Requirements
- Strong understanding of the mining value chain, mining operations, and mining applications.
- Broad company knowledge and a good understanding of sales models, including financial modeling, and/or sales management experience.
- Understanding of our deal financial analysis process and the impact commercial opportunities have on our short-term and long-term goals for Resource Industries.
- Superior communication skills – both written and verbal.
- Ability to provide regular, effective updates to regions, dealers, and RI Leadership.
- An understanding of Customer needs, perspectives, and pain points for a commercial opportunity.
- Knowledge of data gathering and analysis tools, techniques, and processes.
- Knowledge of successful negotiation concepts and techniques.
- Maintaining credibility in the regions, with dealers and customers and in the broader Cat organization.
Responsibilities
- Ongoing development of the Major Projects Team focused on the identification, project management & execution of large commercial opportunities.
- Development of engagement documentation, financial and Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) modeling and leadership status updates for major projects.
- Be a trusted partner of the Americas region and collaborate with them to develop and monitor large brownfield expansion and greenfield mine sites.
- Support large mine site analysis and commercial reviews, including presentations to Resource Industries (RI) Senior Leaders.
- Drive awareness to active and potential MPT engagements through the quarterly and annual alignment process.
- Establish good working relationships with sales executives and senior management with dealers and customers.
- Conduct market and competitive analysis to ascertain competition levels and understand industry trends.
- Prepare sales proposals and spearhead the opportunities to close.
