Requirements

  • Prior experience in analytics or an analytics transformation role. Sales or finance analytics preferred
  • The ability to collaborate with both technical and business partners on modeling, reports, and analytics
  • Strong business acumen with understanding of how sales-related KPIs are used to drive performance

  • Prior experience building and optimizing relational/semantic data models
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel (e.g. functions, Power Query, Power Pivot, VBA, etc.)
  • 3+ years in a commercial insights-driven business intelligence or analytics role
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Analytics, or related field

Responsibilities

  • Leverage Power BI to create complex data models and enterprise reporting to expose data and insights to hundreds of Tyson team members
  • Build strong relationships with sales leaders to understand their needs and collaborate with cross-functional partners to implement those requirements in data models and reporting
  • Build and help other analytics team members build compelling visualizations in Power BI (and/or similar tool) that help our business partners and leaders quickly digest results and diagnose / resolve issues
  • Contribute to making Tyson Commercial Sales’ analytics more predictive and prescriptive in nature by enabling analytics for the fundamentals and then moving to more predictive analytics
  • Thoroughly document and work with others on the team to document KPI’s, calculations, processes, etc. to ensure information can pass freely to users of any experience level
  • Demonstrate proactive, curious business thinking to challenge the status quo, inform and educate on optimal approaches, and leverage best practices in analytics to glean insights
  • Prepare materials and lead training sessions aimed at ensuring successful change management and adoption of analytical tools
  • Participate in and contribute to the IT-led agile development process and collaborate with the business to deliver information and insights to improve the customer experience through data and analytics

Preferred Qualifications

  • Proficiency/knowledge of C# fundamentals
  • Advanced skill in pulling data from and crafting stories with syndicated data (e.g. Nielsen IQ/Circana)
  • Prior experience in non-technical business role (e.g. sales, finance, procurement, supply chain, etc.)
  • Understanding of and passion for front-end design that facilitates user adoption of analytical tools
  • Masters: Business Administration, Analytics, Information Systems
  • CPG industry experience a plus
