Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, or a related field
  • 5+ years of experience in deal desk operations, sales operations, or contract management, with at least 2 years of experience in a leadership role
  • Strong understanding of deal structuring, sales operations, and contract lifecycle management
  • Proven ability to balance customer-centric deal strategies with internal policy adherence and compliance
  • Exceptional leadership skills, with a track record of building and managing high-performing teams
  • Proficiency in CRM and deal management tools (e.g., Conga, Salesforce, CPQ, or similar platforms)
  • Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail, with the ability to identify errors and inconsistencies in complex deals and contracts
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships across diverse teams and levels of seniority
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic environment and manage competing priorities effectively

Responsibilities

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of Deal Desk Coordinators and Deal Auditors, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and high performance
  • Set clear expectations, provide coaching and development opportunities, and complete Quarterly Conversations to support team success
  • Act as a bridge between Sales, Customer Success, Legal, Finance, and Operations teams to align on deal processes, approvals, and requirements
  • Drive effective communication and training for the sales team on deal support best practices and policy updates
  • Develop and refine workflows, tools, and templates to improve the efficiency and accuracy of deal structuring and contract management processes
  • Identify opportunities for automation and innovation to enhance operational performance
  • Guide Deal Desk Coordinators in working with the sales team to structure complex deals that align with customer needs while adhering to PitchBook’s policies, pricing strategies, and legal requirements
  • Support the team in navigating complex deal scenarios, ensuring solutions meet both customer expectations and organizational objectives
  • Provide expertise on discounting strategies, approvals, and contract terms to facilitate smooth deal closure
  • Oversee the contract review process, ensuring Deal Auditors accurately review all contracts and orders for errors and compliance with internal policies and external regulations
  • Act as the point of escalation for high-value or complex contracts, ensuring issues are resolved swiftly and appropriately
  • Track and analyze deal-related metrics to identify trends, risks, and areas for improvement
  • Provide regular updates to senior leadership on deal desk performance, operational challenges, and key initiatives
  • Support the vision and values of the company through role modeling and encouraging desired behaviors
  • Participate in various company initiatives and projects as requested
