Requirements
- Two-year technical college equivalent and/or current certifications is preferred.
- Experience using a variety of welding equipment and procedures (GTAW, FCAW-G)
- Experience in using electrical or manual tools (saws, squares, calipers etc.)
- Ability to completely read and interpret technical documents and drawings.
- Knowledge of relative safety standards and willingness to use protective clothing (face-shield, hearing protection, gloves etc.)
- Minimum 7+ years welding and fabrication experience.
- Professional Certification (AWS welding certificate) will be a plus.
- Thorough experience using a wide variety of hand tools and capable of fitting and setting up details required for fabricated assemblies.
- Computer literacy with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, etc.)
- Experience and knowledge with timekeeping systems and timekeeping management practices.
- Minimum of 5 years of direct shop floor supervisor / management experience
- Experience leading large teams of 100+ indirect personnel
- Bi-lingual in English and Spanish will be a plus
- Ability to develop creative solutions on delivering to multiple conflicting priorities.
Responsibilities
- Serve as the main point of contact for providing monthly manufacturing reporting details including delivery schedules, hourly budget tracking, and lead time forecast for new and current projects.
- Contribute to the creation and implementation of best practice manufacturing vision, strategy, policies, processes and procedures to aid and improve operational performance.
- Responsible for Capex Yearly Budget to Provide required manufacturing Capabilities.
- Supporting production schedule and labor utilization at Murrieta facility for major projects, including quality coordination in partnership with International QC Manager.
- Effectively and efficiently manage the production of the required daily/weekly/monthly targets in line with customer specifications, company’s quality standards, and delivery expectations, minimizing costs where possible and ensure the required best working practices are maintained.
- Responsible for plant production, financial performance, meeting customer requirements and standards, and maintaining the orderly and productive operation of planned activities.
- Manage, coach and develop a high performing manufacturing team that meets agreed objectives, and which delivers best practice results, added value and continuous improvements.
- Consistently promote high standards through personal example and roll out through the team so that each member of the team understands the standards and behaviors expected of them.
- Review operations and confer with technical or administrative staff to resolve production or processing problems.
- Maintain all manufacturing teams to be highly productive achieving minimum of 80% utilization.
- Lead with integrity, manage, coach and develop a high performing team that meets agreed objectives and which delivers best practice results, added value and continuous improvements.
- Work and collaborate with other departments such as HSE, engineering, project management, supply chain, and continuous improvement / facilities to address manufacturing challenges and removing obstacles to achieving required customer delivery schedules.
- Ensure all team members are working in safely with proper PPE.
- Escalate and communicate engineering related redline drawings / changes to any current open orders on shop floor.
- Coordinate material deliveries and expedite requests with supply chain.
- Work with continuous improvement / facilities to streamline any operational challenges and/or any roadblocks.
- Determine required support for production headcount and ensure all manufacturing departments are properly staffed based on workload.
- Attend both production meetings to provide status for all customer orders / special projects running through Cryoquip factory.
- Coordinate with planners to ensure large projects are on track to achieving POC requirements helping business achieve weekly / monthly / quarterly revenue targets.
- Maintain all manufacturing teams to be highly productive, achieving minimum of 80% utilization.
- Coach and develop team members on manufacturing activities including supporting other production supervisors in welding, electrical, machine shop, and final assembly.
- Hold all team members accountable to achieve the committed deadlines and embrace the challenges of providing constructive feedback.
- Exhibit leadership for all manufacturing activities by maintaining a professional demeanor, setting boundaries, and focusing on effective communication (both external and internal).
- Develop long term strategies for manufacturing / operations teams to proactively support an increased workload through the facility. Cross training between departments, demand planning / level loading for the shop, and determine when increased overtime / staffing support required.
Preferred Qualifications
