BASIC FUNCTION:          

We are seeking a Manager of Operations who reports and serves as the lead administrator in the Office of Audit and Compliance and is responsible for routine administrative, operational and financial support for daily staff operations; inclusive of long-term strategic planning, delegation of tasks to staff and the management of personnel. The incumbent serves as liaison and representative of the Chief Audit and Compliance Officer for administrative leadership in planning, resource management, finance, communications, and human resources. 

SUPERVISORY ACCOUNTABILITY:         

Responsible for the administrative functions within the of Office.  Formally plans, assigns, directs, and coordinates the work of these functions. 

NATURE AND SCOPE:    

Internal contacts include administrators, faculty, and staff within the University. External contacts include government agencies, vendors, visitors, officials and the general public.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:      

Directs and oversees administrative support services (e.g., personnel, budgetary, facility, etc.) for the Office of Audit and Compliance; serves as departmental liaison to University administrative units (e.g., Finance, Human Resources, etc.)

Serves as a member of the Chief Audit and Compliance Officer’s leadership team; participates in various administrative, academic and external committees; and serves as the Office’s liaison to colleges, schools, and departmental offices of the University. 

Contributes to the development of policies, practices, programs and initiatives of the Office; supports initiatives which lead to organizational changes for administrative leadership; initiates change to increase efficiency in the workplace.

Collaborates with Chief Audit and Compliance Officer for developing departmental operating, personnel, and capital budgets; analyzes potential resources and managerial needs for existing and proposed initiatives and relationships; and develops financial and management models as necessary to successfully implement approved initiatives.  

Works closely with colleagues to ensures that programs and services are aligned with departmental and University goals; may be tasked to collaborate with colleagues on departmental projects and programs.

Assists in maintaining the Chief Audit and Compliance Officer’s calendar and administrative support.

May perform other duties as assigned. 

CORE COMPETENCIES:  

Demonstrates knowledge and understanding of the principles, processes and requirements of planning, budgeting, financial planning and analysis for an organization of similar size and complexity of funding streams. 

Successful experience in planning and managing capital projects including the coordination of technological activities with University personnel, departmental managers, architects and external consultants. 

Proven ability to facilitate and reach consensus in committee structure with senior administration and with peers both internally and externally. 

Familiarity with advanced features of Microsoft Office products (e.g., Excel and Word).

Effective communication skills (verbal and written) and the ability to work closely with staff and periodically within tight time deadlines.

Demonstrated leadership ability with a proven record of success in communicating to and working with all levels of a rapidly changing organization.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:         

Bachelor’s degree in relevant area with at least 6 years of experience required or a Master’s degree and 5-10 or more years of relevant experience preferred. 

10 years of related work experience may be substituted in lieu of educational qualifications.  

Compliance Salary Range Disclosure

Compensation Range – $80,000 – $90,000
