Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, Economics, or a related field (MBA or CPA preferred)
  • 5+ years of experience in financial planning and analysis within a consumer-focused organization, preferably with direct-to-consumer or omni-channel brands in the Shopify ecosystem
  • Advanced Excel / financial modeling skills
  • Proficiency with software systems such as NetSuite, Planful, and Tableau is highly desired
  • Strong analytical skills with a focus on financial modeling, forecasting, and data analysis tools
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex financial concepts to non-financial stakeholders
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic, entrepreneurial environment
  • Demonstrated experience in motivating and developing a high-performing team in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong organizational and leadership skills with ability effectively monitor project timelines and manage to key deadlines
  • Ability to thrive in a dynamic environment, adapting to changing priorities and business needs with a desire to continuously learn, expand, and improve

Responsibilities

  • Own and manage long-term, annual, and monthly financial planning processes for the brand, including revenue forecasting, cost management, and profitability analysis
  • Lead the development and presentation of P&L projections, highlighting key assumptions and risks
  • Monitor key financial metrics and operational KPIs, ensuring they are tracked, understood, and actionable
  • Build and maintain dashboards and reporting tools to deliver real-time visibility into financial and operational performance
  • Perform scenario analyses, cost-benefit evaluations, and deep dives into specific business challenges to uncover growth opportunities and improve operational efficiency
  • Evaluate new initiatives, such as product launches, marketing initiatives, pricing strategies, market expansion, and M&A
  • Compare performance against key peers
  • Mentor and guide junior team members and foster a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement
  • Drive process enhancements to improve efficiency, accuracy, and scalability in financial planning and reporting
  • Stay abreast of financial tools, systems, and industry trends to leverage technology for enhanced performance and forecasting accuracy

Preferred Qualifications

  • CPA, CFA, or relevant professional certification is a plus
  • Apparel industry experience is a strong plus
