Requirements
- 5+ years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages.
- 2+ years proven experience leading and managing software development teams.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
Responsibilities
- Bring together a team to handle the operations of many of our group’s services.
- Drive improvements to our architecture and operating practices with the goal of enabling the smooth operation of our services for our customers.
- Handle on-call support for these services in conjunction with our service and infrastructure teams.
- Build a team which can live in both the software development and service reliability engineering worlds.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience designing, analyzing, and troubleshooting large-scale distributed systems.
- Hands-on operational experience with large-scale distributed systems and cloud platforms like AWS (preferred).
- Experience working in large, multi-team environments.
- Solid understanding and practical experience with software engineering best practices (coding standards, code reviews, SCM, CI, build processes, testing, and operations).
- Demonstrated interpersonal skills, to positively influence important issues or decisions in a multi-functional environment.
- Ability to communicate technical complexity in simple terms to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Experience supporting team members’ career growth and development, including coaching and mentoring.
