Requirements

  • Bachelors in a technical field such as Computer Science or equivalent experience
  • 8+ years of experience working in software engineering
  • 2+ years of experience managing a team
  • Strong computer science fundamentals and technical skills
  • Proficient in making data-driven decisions in complex technical problems
  • Ability to lead and represent the team’s goals and projects with cross-functional business partners and leaders

Responsibilities

  • Help define the technical vision for observability, insights & performance benchmarking for the Snapchat mobile apps
  • Build cutting edge tooling to detect, group and root cause performance & reliability issues at scale
  • Build and grow a team of exceptional software engineers and technical leaders and be a strong technical mentor
  • Work cross functionally with Data Scientists, product & engineering partners to gather feature asks & set up a long term roadmap for observability
  • Influence key decisions and tradeoffs on architecture and implementation of client side features

Preferred Qualifications

  • 10+ years of experience working in software engineering
  • Experience working on iOS and/or Android apps with focus on performance
