Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline or equivalent work experience
- 3+ years of experience working in a manufacturing setting
- Willingness to travel up to approximately 10% of the time
Responsibilities
- Develop, evaluate, implement, and improve manufacturing methods
- Maintain related prints and documentation
- Lead and participate in ongoing continuous improvement efforts and problem solving
- Provide detailed die specifications for equipment purchases and acceptance
- Analyze work samples to develop standards for labor utilization
- Analyze and plan work force utilization, space requirements, and workflow
- Design layout of equipment and workspace for maximum efficiency
- Confer with design staff concerning product design and tooling
- Recommend methods for improving worker efficiency and reducing waste
- Confer with vendors to determine product specifications and arrange for purchase of equipment
- Estimate production times, staffing requirements, and related costs
- Confer with management, engineering, and other staff regarding manufacturing capabilities
- Specify, install, debug and train personnel on new equipment and processes
- Apply statistical methods to estimate future manufacturing requirements
