Requirements
- Lean Manufacturing: Knowledge of the philosophy, principles and implementation approaches of lean manufacturing; ability to integrate and implement lean manufacturing philosophy into existing production and management processes.
- Manufacturing Equipment: Knowledge of the electrical, mechanical and logistics equipment used in manufacturing; ability to safely operate, maintain, update and store them.
- Manufacturing Processes: Knowledge of existing product manufacturing methods, technologies and processes; ability to execute, plan, manage and monitor the entire manufacturing process.
- Problem Management Process – MFG: Knowledge of manufacturing problem management processes, methodologies and techniques; ability to use a disciplined approach to bringing that problem to a successful resolution.
Responsibilities
- Perform technical analysis of manufacturing processes through a lens of continuous improvement.
- Design and direct the acquisition of all necessary tooling and machines.
- Troubleshoot day-to-day manufacturing process issues, develop solutions and monitor improvements.
- Procure material related to manufacturing improvements through external suppliers.
- Develop standard work for and deploy engineering change notices.
- Develop and maintain standard work routings.
- Respond to customer issues and lead process improvements.
Preferred Qualifications
- A thorough knowledge of manufacturing concepts demonstrated through prior experience working in a manufacturing environment
- Good communication, interpersonal and teamwork skills
- Proficient with Microsoft Office
- Experience with SAP & SAP ME
- Extensive Caterpillar Manufacturing Experience & Experience with Paving Products
- Ability to work and communicate with a diverse group of employees and customers
- Experience with 3D modeling programs (NX or Creo)
- A degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology or related discipline
