Requirements
- Completed post secondary education in Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
- APEGA registration as a P. Eng. or E.I.T.
- Minimum 3 years of experience supporting manufacturing operations
- Process design experience
- Expert in 3D mechanical and CAD software for design, simulation and documentation. (Siemens NX & Teamcenter experience preferred but experience with similar applications will be considered)
- LEAN Process design and support
- Project management experience
- You prioritize working safely and making sure your health and safety as well as those of your co-workers is part of your job
Responsibilities
- Develop manufacturing processes by studying product requirements
- Researching, designing, modifying, and testing manufacturing methods and equipment conferring with equipment vendors
- Improves manufacturing efficiency by analyzing and planning workflow, space requirements, and equipment layout
- Factory / assembly process design
- Research for equipment choice / supplier identification
- Design & implement automation of manual processes
- Work with production personnel and operations management to solve production issues
- New product introduction to factory operations
- New factory location setup / startup
- Design & implement ergonomic improvements to production processes
- Change processes to improve product quality
- Cost reduction of existing processes
