Requirements

• Some vocational or community college with related coursework or equivalent experience, required.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine, general maintenance and repair of presses.
• Change hydraulic, electrical, or mechanical circuits to meet molding conditions.
• Repair any hydraulic leaks.
• Troubleshoot and inspect facility equipment for defects.
• Dismantle equipment, make repairs, rebuild, reassemble and test for proper functioning.
• Work with other employees on maintenance/repair tasks requiring more than one employee.
• Maintain spare parts inventory, schedule repairs, perform mold changes, and rebuild valves and pump motors as needed.
• Order parts and supplies as needed.
• Remove and install molds as dictated by work orders and production schedules.
• Bring mold to Toolroom for repair.
• Clean screws and nozzles as needed.
• Conduct emergency maintenance as required.
• Maintain an accurate and detailed record of maintenance and repair services performed.
• Minimize lost production and unscheduled equipment down time by performing PM duties in a timely and efficient manner.
• Read hydraulic, electrical, and machine mechanical prints.
• Repair, modify, and install hydraulic circuits from prints.
• Troubleshoot electrical problems from prints.
• Set relief valve and unloading valve and all other pressure adjustments.
• Troubleshoot hydraulic problems using hydraulic schematics.
• Understand the mechanical functions of the injection molding machine mechanical advantage, strain, clamp, level, parallel, and platin.
• Prevent grease and oil related rejections.
• Perform appropriate cleaning of press tie bars, ways, and drop area.
• Maintain a neat and orderly work area, keeping walkways and aisles clear.
• Perform general housekeeping duties such as sweeping and trash removal.
