Requirements
- Minimum 4 Years of mechanical design experience
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, Aerospace Engineering or closely related engineering discipline from an accredited university or college; or relevant experience that would be equal to a bachelor’s degree.
Responsibilities
- Design premixers based on micromixer and swirl technology for combustion systems using hand calculations, 2D and 3D Finite Element Analysis (FEA), component and rig testing to meet design requirements.
- Design liner, impingement and other rig components for single nozzle rig
- Good understanding of fundamentals of mechanical design, heat transfer & direct metal laser melting (DMLM) fabrication technology to drive design decisions.
- Drive quality of our products through completion of design stack ups.
- Work cross functionally with Manufacturing, Repair, Design and Supplier Quality organizations to meet schedule commitments and deliver high quality products.
- Implements lean and continuous improvement to engineering tasks.
- Lead the execution of lab tests and field tests to validate analytical assumptions.
- Proactively and effectively communicate project specific progress and schedule/technical risk.
- Documents work clearly and effectively and presents work in formal and informal reviews.
Preferred Qualifications
- 2 years or more of combustion design experience
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering or closely related engineering discipline
- Demonstrated ability of mechanical design of parts in high temperature environment
- Demonstrated ability to perform durability analysis with commercially available finite element software
- Demonstrated capability in collaborating with different teams such as aero designers, CFD team members and working with in a team environment
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Manufacturing and Additive experience
- Experience in the latest version of Unagraphics software, and an advanced programming language such PYTHON
