Requirements
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field; Bachelor’s with 1+ years experience in mechanical design, or Master’s with research or professional engineering experience.
- Experienced using CAD (SolidWorks preferred) to design parts and assemblies.
- Exposure to writing, executing and analyzing test plans to make data-driven decisions.
- Experience with prototyping techniques and working in a machine shop environment.
- Strong heat transfer, fluid dynamics and mechanics fundamentals.
- Desire to roll up your sleeves and contribute with a cross-functional team solving challenging problems.
- Ability to travel domestically approximately 15% of the time.
Responsibilities
- Lead hands-on prototyping and verification testing of subsystem designs.
- Drive instrumentation, data collection and data analysis for system-level validation builds.
- Own design of components and small assemblies for volume manufacturing.
- Run and analyze trials to inform specs and future design direction.
- Execute ambitious product development processes on tight timelines.
