Requirements
- High School diploma or GED
- 1 year of relevant experience required
- 2-4 years of relevant experience preferred
- Certification or vocational training may be preferred
- Meets mandatory education and health surveillance requirements
- Demonstrates competence in technical, interpersonal, and cognitive skills required for essential job functions
Responsibilities
- Covering the duties and responsibilities of the Central Processing area as applicable within division of the Clinical Laboratories
- Performing specimen processing
- Manual computer test order entry
- Verification of laboratory test requisition entry
- Customer service related duties such as answering telephone inquiries and problem resolution of testing samples with physician order and/or specimen collection errors
- Participating in quality control
- Continuous quality improvement activities
- Inventory control
- Professional development and continuing education within the area
- Rotating weekends and holidays per manager-approved weekend/holiday schedule and/or as operational necessity dictates due to staffing issues where applicable
Preferred Qualifications
- 2-4 years of relevant experience preferred
