Requirements
- High School graduate and successful completion of a Medical Assistant Training Program
- Minimum 1-year total experience of Medical Assisting experience
- Military Medic Training or EMT-Paramedic Training
Responsibilities
- Support the patient care treatment process by assisting physicians, nurse practitioners, and other clinical staff
- Perform multiple advanced clinical support tasks without supervision
- Collect and prepare laboratory specimens, dispose of contaminated supplies, and sterilize medical instruments
- Arrange examining-room instruments and equipment, maintain supplies and equipment, and keep waiting and examining rooms neat and clean
- Verify patient information by interviewing patients, recording medical history, and confirming the purpose of visit
- Prepare patients for examination by performing preliminary physical tests, taking blood pressure, weight, and temperature, and reporting patient history summary
