Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent, required.
- A minimum of one year of experience in a medical office, clinic, or similar setting is required.
- Must obtain AHA BLS within 90 days of hire.
- Medical Assistants hired for Occupational Medicine must obtain both BAT (Breath Alcohol Technician) and DOT (Department of Transportation Certification) within 90 days of hire.
Responsibilities
- Obtaining vital signs.
- Reconciling medications.
- Collecting patient history.
- Facilitating patient flow.
- Managing the electronic health record (EPIC).
- Scheduling appointments.
- Processing medication requests.
- Handling prior authorizations.
- Coordinating tests and procedures.
- Performing EKGs, lab tests, injections, and/or phlebotomy upon successful completion of clinical competency.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience in Occupational Medicine, Urgent Care, Primary Care, or a Specialty medical practice preferred.
