Medical Laboratory Technical Supervisor

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in science plus 4 years clinical experience in high complexity lab, or relevant equivalent experience
• Master’s degree in science plus 2 years clinical experience in high complexity lab, highly preferred
• Graduate of an accredited school of medical laboratory technology (MLT (ACSP), MT (ASCP) or equivalent), preferred
• Prior experience in an outpatient environment, preferred
• Superior phlebotomy skills, preferred

Responsibilities

• Perform all functions of chemistry and complete blood count specimen collection, processing, and reporting.
• Perform routine maintenance of assigned instrumentation.
• Manage lab supply and reagent inventory.
• Troubleshoot instrumentation and assay problems.
• Evaluate quality controls for problems.
• Maintain lab certifications (CLIA<COLA)
• Maintain logs, records and documentation as needed for compliance.
• Educates, oversees and evaluates lab support staff.
• Manages lab employee schedules for adequate coverage to prevent operation closures.
• Regular attendance and punctuality.
• Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
• Ensures that all processing and reporting deadlines are consistently achieved.
• Perform any other functions as required by management.
