Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree required in Health Information Management or related field
- Certification: RHIA or RHIT
- A minimum of 8 years of management experience in an HIM department is required
- Good interpersonal skill and communication skills are essential
- Strong organizational skills
- Effective oral and written communication
- Must display self-control, tact, sound judgment, diplomacy, and flexibility.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for the overall planning, organizing, staffing and controlling of all record processing functions of HIMS
- Monitor productivity and establish standards
- Maintain managerial responsibility for functional areas of the HIMS department
- Oversee work areas and performance evaluations for employees
- Maintain budget for cost centers
- Assume full responsibility for management of these areas of the department in the Director’s absence.
