Requirements

  • 3-8+ years of experience in New Product Introduction (NPI) or Sustaining Engineering. (College graduates with relevant internship experience will be considered.)
  • Expertise in networking products related to routing, switching, and data centers.
  • Proficiency in DFx principles: DFM, DFT, DFQ, DFR, DFC.
  • Experience with complex PCB fabrication structures, including VIPPO and backdrill.
  • Strong knowledge of complex system-level debugging and root cause analysis.
  • Expertise in ECO, BOM, and deviation processes (Agile experience is a plus).
  • Knowledge of manufacturing, test, quality, and reliability best practices.
  • Ability to establish technical direction through the investigation and evaluation of new manufacturing technologies.
  • Strong working knowledge of industry manufacturing standards such as IPC and JEDEC.
  • Proficiency with lab equipment and tools (e.g., logic analyzers, oscilloscopes).
  • BSEE or MSEE degree or equivalent.

Responsibilities

  • Support new product development and drive design for manufacturing excellence.
  • Participate in a team of engineers to specify, design, develop, and test hardware, providing manufacturing input on schematic, placement, and route reviews.
  • Apply DFx principles: Design for Cost (DFC), Quality (DFQ), Manufacturability (DFM), Reliability (DFR), and Test (DFT).
  • Evaluate technical readiness before release and conduct Technical Readiness (TR) reviews with cross-functional teams.
  • Conduct BOM risk assessment, component testing, second sourcing, and manage Product Change Notifications (PCN) and qualifications.
  • Work closely with Engineering, Platform Engineering, Marketing, TAC, and CM partners to support manufacturing readiness.
  • Provide debug mentorship to contract manufacturing test engineers and technicians, ensuring proper training and knowledge transfer.
  • Improve manufacturing operations to enhance efficiency, consistency, and cost-effectiveness while ensuring high product quality.
  • Debug complex system-level issues, perform root cause analysis, and drive corrective actions.
  • Oversee new product releases and manage technical changes through BOM management, ECO, and deviation processes.
  • Lead Defect Reduction Team (DRT) initiatives to identify and resolve product issues.
  • Investigate and implement new manufacturing technologies to improve processes and product performance.
  • Approve programmable devices and PCB first articles while ensuring conformance to manufacturing standards.
  • Drive value engineering and cost reduction activities to optimize product lifecycle costs.
  • Develop and maintain manufacturing process documentation and best practices.
