Requirements
- Associate degree in Allied Health
- Medical Imaging Sciences with additional MRI physics coursework or completed within 6 months of hire
- CPR Certification required within 30 days of hire
- ARRT RT (R) registry or ARMRIT registry required
- Knowledge of cross-sectional anatomy
- Proficient in Electronic Medical Record (EMR)
- Proficient in Radiology Information System (RIS) and Image Storage
- Knowledge of advanced MRI computer applications
Responsibilities
- Performs MRI procedures of diagnostic quality as ordered by the referring physician and/or radiologist on patients of all ages according to established protocols and evaluates MRI studies for technical image quality
- Obtains clinical history and data for correlation with the MRI procedure
- Implements screening and safety measures in accordance with prescribed MRI safety standards
- Prepares and administers contrast media to the patient according to policy
- Assists Radiologist in special procedures and in performing medical treatment during emergency situations
- Coordinates patient care with other areas in order to optimize patient time and satisfaction
- Assesses learning needs and educates patients/families regarding procedures based on individual needs
- Ensures that all records, files and reports are properly recorded as required
Preferred Qualifications
- One year MRI experience preferred
- MRI registry preferred
- ODH licensure preferred
