Requirements
- Graduation from an accredited Radiologic Technologist Program
- OR Graduation from an accredited Sonography Program
- OR Graduate from an accredited Magnetic Resonance Program
- ARMRIT-Certified MRI Technologist
- OR ARRT (MRI) – Radiography – American Register of Radiologic Technologists
- BLS-Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider
- SGMF – CVENI-Certified Venipuncture or equivalent
- General knowledge of diagnostic MRI principles, procedures, views, and equipment
- Capable of performing routine MRI examinations
- Basic understanding of human anatomy, physiology, pathology, and medical terminology
- Possess written and verbal communications skills
- Well-developed time management and organizational skills
- General knowledge of computer applications, such as Microsoft Office Suite and related information systems
- Work independently, as well as be part of the team
- Identify, evaluate and resolve standard problems
- Ensure the privacy of each patient’s protected health information (PHI)
- Build collaborative relationships with peers and other healthcare providers
Responsibilities
- Competently performs routine and specialized Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) procedures
- Produces quality images for diagnosis, treatment, monitoring, and prevention of injury or disease
- Works independently, exercising sound judgment and developed clinical skills
- Delivers accurate results in a timely manner
- Gains confidence and cooperation from patients and their families
- Adheres to all local/state/federal regulations, codes, policies, and procedures
- May be responsible for performing specific procedures and/or helping orient other staff to the department
Preferred Qualifications
- 3 years of MR experience preferred
