Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited school of Radiologic Technology or graduate of an accredited institution per the primary pathway of the ARRT.
- Registered Technologist credentialed by The American Registry of Radiologic Technologists R.T.(R) (ARRT), or R.T.(S)(ARRT), or R.T.(T)(ARRT), in good standing.
- OR Registered Technologist credentialed by The American Registry of Radiologic Technologists R.T.(N) (ARRT) in good standing or be a Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist (CNMT) through the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board. ARDMS and NMTCB are primary pathways.
- Certification in Magnetic Resonance Imaging: R.T.(MR)(ARRT) required within one year of hire.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Knowledge of cross-sectional anatomy and related pathologic processes.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and check patients prior to MRI procedure.
- Acquire and review patient questionnaire, chart and data/requisition to determine contraindication of having MRI examination.
- Verify and validate the patient screening safety form.
- Perform MRI procedures required per protocol and perform daily QA.
- Perform venipunctures.
- Educate patients regarding MRI procedures, equipment and exams.
- Ensure patients’ comfort and safety during and after the exam.
- Assist with scheduling patients.
- Administer proper contrast related to patient having MRI exam.
- Acquire, archive, transmit and print images via PACS.
- Complete after-hours transmission of images and appropriate paperwork.
- Immediately report any malfunctions, observe potential equipment dysfunctions and report problems or call for service.
- Maintain available equipment up-time at the highest level for patient accessibility.
- Process billing via RIS.
- Potentially rotate through all imaging modalities, sites, and/or locations.
Preferred Qualifications
- One year of experience as a General Radiologic Technologist or experience in other imaging modalities.
