Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical engineering or science discipline (Aerospace Eng., Electrical Eng., Mathematics, Physics or related field) is required.
  • A minimum of 6 years of applicable professional experience leading technical teams and coordinating complex modeling and analysis tasks.
  • Experience in algorithm development in Multi-Target Tracking, radar and EO/IR sensor tasking and custody, Missile Defense Battle Management or other related fields.
  • Willingness to occasionally travel and/or work off-business hours to support customer needs, approximately 10% (as required).
  • This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance, which is issued by the U.S. government. U.S. citizenship is required to obtain a security clearance.
  • A minimum of 10 years of applicable professional experience leading technical teams and coordinating complex modeling and analysis tasks (for Senior Project Engineer).

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical direction and advice to Technical Leads and members in algorithm development and detailed analyses support.
  • Maintain a comprehensive, integrated technical perspective of the development effort across all lifecycle phases and products in supporting that lifecycle.
  • Serve as the primary technical point of contact for C2 National Team.
  • Perform thorough technical reviews of products.
  • Create and/or review team positions and make recommendations.
  • Mentor and provide technical direction to team members and partnering organizations.
  • Supervise team Lead Engineers from partnering organizations.
  • Provide overarching technical prioritization for work efforts and review work plans for consistency with those priorities.
  • Provide initial leadership for emergent tasks.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s or PhD degree in related STEM discipline.
  • Expert level programming skills in languages such as C, C++, Python, FORTRAN.
  • Expertise in C2BMC or related command and control systems.
  • Familiarity with tools such as Bitbucket, GitHub, JIRA, Confluence.
  • Current, active TS/SCI or SAP clearance.
  • Leadership experience in a customer-facing organization.
  • The ability to communicate effectively with management, program offices, customers, contractors, and colleagues is essential.
  • Experience leading technical teams, and mentoring junior staff.
  • Experience in identifying, prioritizing, and resolving technical issues.
  • Knowledge of government space mission architectures and mission-effects chains involving multi-target tracking architectures.
  • Knowledge of extended Kalman filter, unscented Kalman filter, batch filter, Gauss Von Mises, track filtering/fusion, kinematic model selection, correlation and association.
  • Demonstrated strength in architecture and sensor-level simulations and evaluation, mission performance assessments with emphasis in multi-target tracking, detection, and estimation.
