Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Minimum of 6 years of experience in data analysis, OSI and TCP/IP models and in network design, analysis, and modeling & simulation.
- Deep knowledge of routing and switching protocols.
- Experience in software development in Python or C/C++.
- Ability to present results effectively in briefings and technical reports.
- Willing to travel, as needed (up to 10%)
- This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance, which is issued by the U.S. Government. U.S. citizenship is required to obtain a security clearance.
Responsibilities
- Lead/participate in multi-disciplinary engineering teams in development and analysis of future network architectures and requirements
- Analyze and simulate complex network architectures and protocols
- Engage in systems architecture definition, development, analysis, modeling & simulation, and prototype development/validation.
- Innovate through specialized technical studies and internal research and development (R&D) projects to develop the next generation of Space and Ground network concepts, architectures, and technologies
- Coordinate tasks in technical meetings for SSC, NRO, and Civil & Commercial customers working with a team comprising of military officers and Government civilians, prime contractors, SE&I contractors and other FFRDCs
- Evaluate and develop multiple access communications or engineering technologies.
- Support development and sustainment of core network simulation, emulation, and modeling capabilities.
Preferred Qualifications
- Expert level knowledge of network testbed development
- Network emulation/simulation proficiency
- Experience with inter-satellite cross-links and laser optical communication technologies
- Track record with military and commercial satellite communication systems and network engineering
- Current and active U.S. Government Security Clearance – Top Secret level
