Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree
- Five (5) years of directly related experience
- Professional Engineer (PE) license – Arizona Board of Technical Registration (ABTR)
- Any combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted on a year for year basis
Responsibilities
- Provides training, counseling, and mentoring to staff.
- Conducts employee reviews and approves bi-weekly payroll.
- Provides effective leadership and supervisory oversight of section staff.
- Ensures section staff has the necessary resources and guidance to ensure successful review of developer financed projects.
- Supervises staff during the review of developer financed projects.
- Reviews plans for conformity to design standards and specifications.
- Provides oversight and directly interfaces with consultants, contractors, and the public.
- Accepts plans for the Water Department for substantial conformance with standard specifications and details and administers the City of Tucson’s Water Service Area Policy.
- Applies engineering seal to Tucson Water job order contract plans for short main extensions.
- Performs all other duties and tasks as assigned.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering
- Five (5) years of demonstrated progressive experience in the design, construction, and management of water or wastewater projects/facilities
- Experience in city, county, or state government: public or private utility experience
- Supervisory experience and experience interacting with the public
