Requirements
- A Ph.D degree in a relevant field, or other relevant experience speaking to the competencies above.
- Experience with nuclear diagnostics in fusion, fission, or experimental physics including neutron, gamma-ray, or charged-particle detection.
- Multiple skills relevant to the development of these systems, e.g. analysis, modeling and simulation, testing and calibration.
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to work cross functionally across a wide array of teams.
Responsibilities
- Design and implement state-of-the-art diagnostics for target-physics experiments on the high-gain facility.
- Convert diagnostic requirements into viable conceptual designs and implemented systems in a dynamic environment.
- Serve as the internal expert on the diagnostic systems under their area of responsibility.
- Innovate in measurement methodology and identify the best path forward to achieve goals.
- Identify critical measurements for the success of experiments on demonstration systems.
- Communicate effectively and collaborate with team members.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience using Google Workspace, which we use for communication and collaboration.
