Responsibilities

  • Oversees orientation, as part of the onboarding process, to ensure that new hire/transfer employees have the knowledge and skill to safely practice independently in their role.
  • Develops, coordinates, manages, facilitates, conducts, and evaluates orientation programs for nursing and other healthcare personnel.
  • Develops, coordinates, manages, facilitates, conducts and evaluates competency programs.
  • Collaborates with operational leaders to address deficits in employee’s knowledge and skills.
  • Designs and develops educational opportunities to achieve specific outcomes related to identified deficits or opportunities for improvement in knowledge, skills and practice.
  • Fosters interprofessional learning and enables effective collaboration to improve practice outcomes for the nurse and other health care personnel.
  • Functions as a mentor, coach, and resource in the development of nursing and other clinical support roles as the employee transitions throughout their career life cycle.
  • Applies research, evidenced based practice and quality improvement principles in education, professional role development, orientation, and competency.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s Degree Nursing Education or Adult Education preferred
  • Education and program development preferred
  • 5 years of relevant experience clinical experience related to area of focus preferred
