Requirements

  • 10+ years of work experience in Life and Disability Insurance or Financial Services, including 10+ years working on Digital and/or Transformation initiatives
  • Experience with implementation methods – portfolio/project management, agile, waterfall, etc.
  • Excellent analytical, process-oriented, problem-solving skills with the ability to synthesize findings
  • Ability to understand the big picture and break it down into implemental components
  • Strong interpersonal, organizational, and influencing, and negotiating skills
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, capable of working collaboratively across departments and with external partners
  • Strong general management mentality and experience
  • Demonstrated ability to drive transformational initiatives
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Visio)
  • Superior verbal and written communication skills for multiple audiences including peers, management, and senior executives
  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience required; MBA preferred

Responsibilities

  • Develops the Product Vision for Life & Disability. It reflects customer and stakeholder needs, as well as the Features proposed to meet those needs. Contributes to and influences the value stream vision.
  • Own the product roadmap and shepherd epics through the portfolio system
  • Translate Target Letter into Product Vision, partnering with the Value Stream Owner
  • Strategically develop, meticulously define, and accurately size the epic by authoring a comprehensive Lean Business Case.
  • Lead initiatives with shared areas to ensure the solution is complete: people, process and technology.
  • Lead the grooming of features and capabilities and help prioritize these backlog items in their respective program and solution backlogs
  • Coalesce with technology to size features and ensure solution meets product needs
  • Drive and lead product owners to decompose features into consumable stories, providing guidance on acceptance criteria
  • Drive and execute on major strategic projects through uncertainty and across silos, removing barriers using a data driven approach for decisions
  • Defines and measures product specific KPIs and OKRs with a key focus on the external and internal consumer and value delivered by the product.
  • Drives transformational change beyond traditional change management techniques (internal & external)
