Requirements
- High School education or GED
- Ability to communicate effectively in writing and orally
- Ability to perform basic math equations
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in a related position and environment
- Knowledge of the methods, techniques, and practices of water treatment
- Proficiency in the care and use of site specific PPE
- Ability to operate assigned machines and equipment
- Ability to efficiently operate equipment such as pumps, engines, centrifuge, generators, valves, gates, mixers, conveyors, blowers, dryers, chemical feed, odor control, disinfection equipment, sludge processing filters, belt presses, and measuring/control devices
- Ability to diagnose process and mechanical problems
- Ability to use computer programs for process control
- Ability to work in a team environment
- Willingness to assume additional or new responsibilities
- Ability to respond to emergency calls and work extended hours
Responsibilities
- Responsible for the safe & efficient operation of the WWTP on all assigned shifts
- Provide basic preventive & corrective maintenance as required to keep the plant in compliance at all times during assigned shifts
- Provide assistance to the maintenance team in the Distribution System and Operations at the WTP when required
Preferred Qualifications
- Typically holds or is working toward an intermediate level water and/or wastewater treatment certificate
- Requires minimum Class C wastewater license as issued by the State of Florida Department of Environmental Protection
