Requirements
- Proven leadership skills with the ability to maintain good relations with customers, peers, and vendors.
- Strong knowledge of outboard engines and general boating products and vehicles.
- Ability to learn and operate new computer systems, adhering to established policies and procedures.
- At least 3 years of experience as a Parts or Service Manager required.
- Experience using a Dealership Management System is required; experience with Lightspeed is a plus.
- Must be highly organized, detail-oriented, and a team player with excellent supervisory skills.
Responsibilities
- Maintain a neat and professional appearance.
- Foster strong relationships with customers by delivering an exceptional customer-centric experience.
- Assist all customers in need, regardless of department (sales, service, or parts).
- Maintain a tidy workspace.
- Provide excellent customer service by promptly answering incoming calls, providing information, and transferring calls as needed.
- Diagnose marine vehicle problems and services by listening to customer descriptions and conducting inspections.
- Adhere to all Boater’s World rules and state regulations regarding repair order processing.
- Develop accurate estimates by costing materials, supplies, and labor.
- Prepare repair orders (RO) by detailing symptoms, problems, and required repairs; obtain approval signatures and enter RO into Lightspeed.
- Keep service customers informed of work status, including completion and additional work approvals.
- Assist internal and external customers in locating parts and accessories quickly and accurately.
- Promote and sell complementary and add-on items to customers.
- Enter customer information and sales data into the dealership management system.
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace suitable for public view.
- Process and submit vendor orders, stock shelves according to the inventory plan.
- Schedule and assign jobs to technicians, monitoring progress to ensure timely completion of work.
- Coordinate with the parts department to secure necessary parts for job completion.
- Enhance technician efficiency through performance monitoring, coaching, and process improvement.
- Process warranty claims and enforce company policies and standards.
- Set and monitor monthly profitability goals, ensuring departmental efficiency and profitability.
