Requirements
- Proficient in Pashto and Dari
- Excellent computer skills, including proficiency in MS Office
- Ability to conduct basic research on the Web
- Excellent English-language verbal communication skills
- BA/BS and/or equivalent formal military training and 4 years of prior relevant experience or Masters with 2 years of prior relevant experience
- Must take and pass a language test administered by LEIDOS/an accepted commercial testing vendor
- Must take and successfully pass a medical laboratory and/or physical screen as required by the program
- Successfully complete the required weapons training
Responsibilities
- Accurately translate reports/texts in electronic and hard-copy formats
- Capture geopolitical, regional, ethnic, and cultural elements in text
- Interpret accurately, typically using consecutive interpretation
- Review audio or internet materials and transcribe with a high degree of accuracy and expression
- Prepare reports with excellent English-language written communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience deployed as a linguist advocating contingency operations
- Knowledge of U.S. Intelligence Community, military, cryptologic, and law enforcement experience
- Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing in Target and English
- Proficiency in multiple languages is strongly desired
