Patient Services Representative II – Obgyn

Requirements

• HS Diploma or equivalent education/experience
• 1 year of recent relevant experience
• Basic knowledge of insurance policies and procedures
• Ability to interpret a variety of data and instructions
• Possess written and verbal communications skills
• Well-developed time management and organizational skills
• General knowledge of computer applications, such as Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel and Outlook)
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Identify, evaluate and resolve standard problems
• Ensure the privacy of each patient’s Protected Health Information (PHI)
• Build collaborative relationships with peers and other staff members

Responsibilities

• Greet and check-in patients
• Verify patient information
• Schedule appointments
• Update Electronic Health Records (EHR)
• Facilitate intake procedures such as completion of healthcare and insurance forms
• Collect payments for services
• Adhere to organizational, local/state/federal regulations, codes, policies and procedures
• Gain confidence and cooperation from patients and their families
• Perform specific tasks and/or orient other staff to the department
