Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; college coursework preferred
- 3-5+ years of experience in a payroll-related role
- Experience in transportation, logistics, or a similar industry preferred
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) or Google Suite (Docs, Sheets, Slides and Gmail) and ability to learn new systems quickly
- Demonstrated ten-key and data entry skills; with the ability to maintain accuracy and speed
- Ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and handle multiple responsibilities effectively
- High attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and payroll processing
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion in handling sensitive information
- Knowledge of union payroll policies and collective bargaining agreements (CBAs) is a plus
Responsibilities
- Manage timesheets for union and non-union employees, ensuring accuracy and compliance
- Process a minimum of 60 Driver Bus Reports (DBRs) per District guidelines and meet payroll deadlines
- Work across multiple payroll and timekeeping platforms to ensure accurate record-keeping
- Maintain compliance with district and union payroll policies
- Collaborate with internal teams, including HR, Billing, and Operations, to facilitate payroll processing
- Calculate pay discrepancies, resolve payroll-related inquiries, and ensure adherence to labor contracts
- Support HR with onboarding activities, including documentation collection and payroll system setup
- Maintain strict confidentiality in handling payroll and employee records.
- Ensure payroll adjustments are properly documented and communicated to relevant parties
- Support training initiatives by keeping payroll and trainee databases updated
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of union payroll policies and collective bargaining agreements (CBAs) is a plus
