Requirements

  • Five years to eight years of similar or related experience, including preparatory experience.
  • Bachelors degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Human Resources, or related field required
  • Extensive knowledge of the payroll function including preparation, balancing, internal control, and payroll taxes.
  • Proficient with payroll software. Prior WorkDay experience preferred.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong supervisory and leadership skills.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across departments.

Responsibilities

  • Works closely with Application Support to Implement, maintain, and review payroll processing systems to ensure timely and accurate processing of payroll transactions including salaries, commission / incentives, benefits, 401k, garnishments, taxes, and other deductions.
  • Responsible for interviewing, hiring and training payroll staff. Oversees the daily workflow of each payroll employee, ensuring that timelines are met, and work is done accurately.
  • Ensures accurate and timely processing of payroll updates including new hires, terminations, and changes to pay rates.
  • Maintains job profile set-up and reporting structure with supervisory organization maintenance in HRIS.
  • Facilitates the advanced compensation processing for merit and bonus cycles.
  • Prepares and maintains accurate records and reports of payroll transactions.
  • Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local payroll, wage, and hour laws and best practices including but not limited to quarterly reporting to agencies.
  • Facilitate audits by providing records and documentation to auditors.
  • Identifies and recommends updates to payroll processing software, systems, and procedures.
