Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years of payroll experience
  • Excellent knowledge / experience processing for Quebec
  • Knowledge processing of special payments such as commissions and bonuses
  • Knowledge of employment law legislation and CRA regulations
  • Advanced excel skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Willingness to learn about US payroll
  • Excellent problem solving skills, logical and innovative thinker

Responsibilities

  • Process CAD & USA payroll in accordance with policies and standards
  • Administer the payroll process, changes in pay and deductions
  • Respond to day to day requests from active and former employees as well as various requests from Management
  • Provide guidance to all departments/employees in the area of payroll
  • Investigate payroll issues, identify causes, and formulate recommendations
  • Complete required reporting in a timely manner
  • Prepare and deliver various reports such as employment records and other documents
  • Validate correct processing of data entries
  • Assist with payroll journal entries, payroll accruals, and Monthly Payroll Analysis for the Finance Department
  • Provide reports to accounting on a regular basis
  • Issue ROEs
  • Administer year-end reconciliation and preparation of required government documents
  • Maintain confidential employee personnel files

Preferred Qualifications

  • CPA certification
  • Accounting experience
  • Experience with Ceridian Dayforce
  • Knowledge of U.S payroll
