Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Minimum of 3+ years of experience in Human Resources and HR compliance
  • Intermediate knowledge of HR best practices, policies and procedures
  • Proficiency in HRIS software (preferably UKG) and Google Suite is a plus
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion

Responsibilities

  • Administer all employee benefits programs (health, dental, vision, life, disability), ensuring adherence to ACA, COBRA, and other relevant regulations
  • Manage benefits enrollments, terminations, changes, and lead the annual Open Enrollment process
  • Oversee Leave of Absence in partnership with the TILT program
  • Drive organizational HR compliance by interpreting employment laws, implementing policy updates, and mitigating risks
  • Ensure data/compliance integrity through regular audits and reviews
  • Provide expert guidance to leadership on complex compliance matters
  • Identify opportunities for automation and efficiency within HR processes, continuously evolving workflows
  • Document processes for internal training and external self-service
  • Implement automated workflows to streamline HR operations
  • Provide essential support to the payroll team, ensuring accurate processing and regulatory compliance
  • Administer the company’s workers’ compensation program, in partnership with The Hartford
  • Manage the full immigration process for foreign national employees, including visa applications, work permits, and green card petitions
  • Advise team members and managers on immigration policies and procedures, ensuring compliance and providing education on immigration trends
  • Optimize and manage the HRIS system (preferably UKG) to ensure data integrity and process efficiency
  • Utilize data analytics to identify trends, predict future needs, and inform strategic HR decisions
  • Generate workforce reports on headcount, attrition, and other key metrics
  • Develop and maintain insightful HR dashboards to track key metrics and provide actionable insights to stakeholders
  • Maintain and enhance the HR Help Desk (HRSD) to provide timely and effective support to team members, developing self-service resources
  • Support People Support initiatives, including building a Knowledge Base and policy repository
  • Provide comprehensive general HR support, including team member record-keeping, policy administration, and contribution to people support projects

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in payroll support, benefit management or people operations is a plus
  • Preferred experience in healthcare or veterinary care
  • PHR certification or SHRM preferred
  • Enthusiasm for solution-oriented thinking
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Passion for animal welfare and the veterinary industry
