Requirements
- Nationally certified within 6 months of hire.
- Registration with Kentucky Board of Pharmacy (KY hospitals) within 30 days of hire date if you are a new registrant. If previously registered you must have registration upon hire.
- Indiana Pharmacy Technician Certificate of Pharmacy Technician in Training (IN hospitals) or registration with Indiana Board of Pharmacy within 30 days of hire date if you are a new registrant. If previously registered, you must have registration upon hire.
Responsibilities
- Assists pharmacist in filling and preparation of medication orders.
- Performs hazardous and non-hazardous IV compounding with a high degree of accuracy.
- Functions as purchasing agent for medications and supplies.
- Responsible for acquisition, preparation, and disposal of high risk hazardous materials.
- Responsible for compliance with EPA regulations pertaining to handling, storage, and disposal of hazardous materials.
