Requirements
- High school diploma program or GED
- Pharmacy Technician license – STATE_MI State of Michigan Upon Hire required
- Pharmacist Intern license – STATE_MI State of Michigan Upon Hire required
Responsibilities
- Fills medication orders including oral, injectable and topical medications and intravenous admixtures
- Assists in the bulk manufacturing of special pharmaceutical products
- Prepares and distributes floor stock items in response to requisition forms
- Inventories and restocks shelves in immediate work area, checks for outdated drugs
- Enters charges and credits into the computer for all medications and IV admixtures dispensed from the Pharmacy, documents all medications and IV solutions returned to the Pharmacy
- Distributes prepared medications to patient care areas and/or other departments of the Hospital
- Performs necessary record keeping functions
- Answers telephone and assists at Pharmacy window
- May rotate within hospital and out-patient pharmacy service areas as required
- Maintains the work area in a safe, orderly manner
- Follows appropriate clean room (797) guidelines in the preparation of intravenous admixtures
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with sterile compounding and/or 6 months technician experience and/or graduate of an ASHP accredited technician training program preferred
