Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- LIC-Pharmacist Intern – STATE_MI State of Michigan Upon Hire required
- LIC-Pharmacy Technician Temp – STATE_MI State of Michigan Must obtain full licensure w/in 90 days of hire. Upon Hire required
- LIC-Pharmacy Technician – STATE_MI State of Michigan 90 Days required
- CRT-Pharmacy Technician, Certified (CPHT) – PTCB Pharmacy Technician Certification Board Excludes – LIC- Pharmacist Intern 90 Days required
- CRT-Exam for the Certification of Pharmacy Technicians (ExCPT) – NHA National Healthcareer Association Excludes – LIC- Pharmacist Intern 90 Days required
- Maintains all requirements for CPhT certifications. Completes all Spectrum Health assigned competencies by assigned due dates.
Responsibilities
- Prepares supplies / medication, including complex sterile formulations under the direction of a Pharmacist. May prepare hazardous or biologic products when properly trained and competencies are passed.
- Prepares and packages bulk medications into unit of use packaging.
- Handles controlled substances for pharmacy and patient care areas under direct supervision of a pharmacist per federal and state law.
- Delivers pharmacy prepared medications, controlled substances and supplies to various nursing stations/patient care areas.
- Maintains a clean and organized work area.
Preferred Qualifications
- Preferred Associate’s Degree
- Hospital experience Preferred
- Ideal candidate will possess Full Pharmacy Technician License and National Certification, such as PTCB Certification
- Inpatient experience would be a great plus
