Requirements
- High school graduate or equivalent.
- California Board of Pharmacy Technician License, and in good standing
- Minimum 1 year of experience as a CA Board pharmacy technician or related pharmacy experience required.
- A minimum requirement of a valid BLS certification or higher, following the American Heart Association (AHA) or the American Red Cross guidelines.
Responsibilities
- Supports the clinical pharmacists at the Centralized Prescription Renewal Unit in managing the refill authorization process using approved guidelines and protocols.
- Receives electronic refills, phone calls, faxes, and other forms of communication to process medication-related requests.
- Assists in the submission of medication prior authorizations.
- Communicates directly with pharmacies and insurance plans.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
