Requirements
- Required High School Diploma or equivalent
- LIC-Pharmacist Intern – STATE_MI State of Michigan Upon Hire required
- LIC-Pharmacy Technician Temp – STATE_MI State of Michigan Upon Hire required
- LIC-Pharmacy Technician – STATE_MI State of Michigan 1 Year required
- CRT-Pharmacy Technician, Certified (CPHT) – PTCB Pharmacy Technician Certification Board Excludes – LIC-Pharmacist Intern 1 Year required
- CRT-Exam for the Certification of Pharmacy Technicians (ExCPT) – NHA National Healthcareer Association Excludes – LIC-Pharmacist Intern 1 Year required
- Maintains all requirements for CPhT certifications. Completes all Spectrum Health assigned competencies by assigned due dates.
Responsibilities
- Prepares supplies / medication under the direction of a Pharmacist.
- Prepares and packages bulk medications into unit of use packaging.
- Handles controlled substances for pharmacy and patient care areas under direct supervision of a pharmacist per federal and state law.
- Maintains a clean and organized work area.
- Delivers pharmacy prepared medications, controlled substances and supplies to various nursing stations/patient care areas.
- Triages phone calls and messages.
Preferred Qualifications
- Retail or hospital pharmacy experience Preferred
- Previous hospital pharmacy experience Preferred
- Michigan Pharmacist Intern License preferred
- Ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor’s Degree in Pharmacy or be Enrolled in accredited PharmD program
