Requirements

• Understanding of phlebotomy processes and techniques
• Ability to perform patient identification and specimen labeling
• Ability to perform point-of-care testing (e.g. glucose)
• Effective communication skills
• Problem-solving skills

Responsibilities

• Collects blood specimens from patients of all ages
• Assists patients with non-blood collections
• Performs, interprets and reports point-of-care testing
• Processes laboratory and patient reports according to standard operating procedures
• Recognizes problems and takes appropriate action
• Actively communicates throughout the shift and manages priority requests
• Performs other duties as assigned or needed
