Requirements
- Basic Life Support certification (BLS)/RQI for healthcare providers.
- Ability to take on-call shifts, according to department needs.
- Must be flexible to work in other facilities, as needed.
- Adheres to all personal protective requirements in inpatient and/or outpatient settings, including, but not limited to, gloves, lab coats, face shields, and masks.
- Advanced skills and performance typically acquired with experience performing phlebotomy in a clinic or hospital setting
- Experience working in a team environment under stressful situations.
- Self-motivated and experience working independently.
- Flexibility to work a variety of shifts that may include weekends, holidays, and nights.
Responsibilities
- Accurately collect patient specimens for diagnostic testing.
- Communicate procedures and instructions with patients, family members, and other caregivers.
- Demonstrate empathy during every interaction.
- Assist with adverse event investigations, research study coordination, and moderate complexity testing.
- Serve as a patient and clinical staff liaison.
- Lead continuous improvement projects.
Preferred Qualifications
- Two years’ prior phlebotomy experience or one year Intermountain phlebotomy experience
- High School diploma or equivalent as needed for CLIA compliance.
- Previous leadership experience
