Requirements

• Formal academic training in phlebotomy – required
• equivalent direct patient care education – required
• High School Diploma/G.E.D. – required
• 1-2 years’ phlebotomy experience (preferably in a hospital setting) – required
• CPR – Cardiac Pulmonary Resuscitation CPR (BLS) certification Upon Hire – required

Responsibilities

• Communicates effectively with nursing staff, physicians and other hospital departments.
• Demonstrates cooperation and flexibility in continually meeting patient care needs
• Collects specimens for clinical laboratory analysis in a safe and effective manner that meets patient care needs.
• Assists with the delivery of specimens to the clinical laboratories in a safe and timely manner

Preferred Qualifications

• 1-2 years’ phlebotomy experience (preferably in a hospital setting)
