Requirements
- Master’s degree – Completion of accredited Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner program
- Certification as a Physician Assistant – NCCPA -National Commission Certification of Physician Assistants upon hire required or Certified Nurse Practitioner (ANCC) – American Nurse Credentialing Center or (AANP) American Association for Nurse Practitioners required upon hire
- Licensed Registered Nurse – MN Board of Nursing required upon hire (NP candidates)
- Active MN NP/PA license (or ability to obtain)
- BLS certification required with in 180 days of hire
- Ability to obtain and/or maintain MN DEA certification and National Provider Identifier (NPI)
- Ability to meet criteria/qualifications for credentialing and hospital privileges.
Responsibilities
- Provides clinical care for patients
- Completes comprehensive patient assessments
- Determines diagnosis and treatment of illness
- Orders and interprets medical diagnostics in tandem with attending physician
- Prescribes medications, treatments, therapy and medical equipment
- Conducts patient education when working to manage chronic illness or wellness care.
Preferred Qualifications
- New graduates may be considered. Prefer a minimum of 2 years of experience in cardiology or ICU.
