Requirements

  • Undergraduate degree with a major/speciality in Business, Finance, Statistics, Mathematics
  • Investment industry accreditation (e.g., CSC, CIM)
  • Completion of or working towards completion of the CFA Institute’s Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation
  • 3-5 years of experience in the financial services industry
  • Strong knowledge of financial markets
  • Strong understanding of managed products including mutual funds, ETFs, and SMAs
  • Strong time management, prioritization and organizational skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship management skills
  • Excellent technical skills and a strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills
  • Analytic, technical and computational skills
  • Knowledge and understanding of Bloomberg and Morningstar
  • Ability to work both independently and as a team player
  • Outgoing individual who demonstrates keen initiative, flexibility and ability to react quickly to changing needs

Responsibilities

  • Understand the managed assets product spectrum
  • Develop a deep understanding of the firm’s fee-based and managed account platforms as well as the recommended managed products and portfolio solutions
  • Support WIO’s delivery of managed investment solutions to TD Wealth’s Canadian advisors
  • Provide portfolio construction guidance and support for advisors requiring customized solutions
  • Interpret managed product research from TD’s internal investment manager research group
  • Contribute to market-related publications and conference calls on a regular basis
  • Be the first responder to advisor managed investment inquiries and provide investment guidance and portfolio construction advice
  • Lead Book Review activities for the Financial Planning channel
  • Source and analyze the holdings & portfolio construction techniques within individual planners/advisor’s book
  • Educate advisors and Branch Managers & Senior Relationship Managers on developing, building and maintaining a scalable and efficient approach to investment management
  • Assist planners/advisors in aligning a well-documented investment philosophy, value proposition and discovery process with a prescribed portfolio construction methodology
  • Develop model portfolios for a variety of client risk profiles, circumstances and account sizes

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge and understanding of Bloomberg and Morningstar is preferable
  • Analytic, technical and computational skills would be a bonus; VBA, Python, etc. basic data management
