Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • 7 years of financial services experience in risk, data, or portfolio reporting/analytics role
  • 2 years of SQL experience

Responsibilities

  • Assisting the Credit Risk Director in the production of the Bank’s Credit Risk Pillar Risk Assessment on a quarterly basis and will work to improve the alignment of Huntington’s credit risk governance to regulatory expectations.
  • Maintain appropriate reporting risk management effectiveness within each loan portfolio. This includes the analysis of application trends, risk assessment, management reporting, portfolio performance, and review/assessment of key credit metrics.
  • Closely monitor economic & social environmental factors that would have an impact on portfolio credit performance and develop proactive mitigation actions
  • Leverage credit risk data experience and business acumen to observe key trends/threats/inaccuracies and drivers of those observations.
  • Collaborate with other functions such as Accounting Policy, Finance, Operations, Technology, Credit Administration, etc. to drive various business initiatives and proper execution on risk control and portfolio actions.
  • Provide analysis and 2nd line of defense monitoring and oversight of our various lending programs.
  • Develop and monitor metrics/analysis based on the performance of our portfolios.
  • Leverage existing data sources and problem-solving to develop solutions to address gaps in credit reporting risk.
  • Challenge the status quo, while helping to shape the strategic intent for products and marketing efforts.
  • Support step-change improvements in credit performance by connecting drivers of future consumer credit trends to historical behavior, and testing hypotheses using rigorous analysis and monitoring.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Understanding of consumer credit risk management, profit & loss drivers and the ability to apply credit and risk principles toward business objectives.
  • Strong knowledge in credit scorecards, decision engine rule sets, stress testing, segmentation, and risk models.
  • Excellent quantitative and analytic skills; ability to derive patterns, trends, and insights, and perform risk/reward trade-off analysis.
  • Ability to build effective presentations to communicate analytical findings to a wide array of audiences
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills as well as the ability to motivate others
