Requirements
- Grade 12 or equivalent
- Valid 3rd Class Power Engineer Certificate
- Valid First Aid certificate or willing to obtain
- Experience in operating large steam boilers and large ammonia refrigeration systems
- Ability to work independently and take appropriate action where circumstances warrant
- Mechanical aptitude/skills
- Excellent written, documentation, computer and verbal communication skills
- Willing to work shifts and overtime
Responsibilities
- Operation of boilers and ammonia systems
- Maintenance of boilers and auxiliary equipment
- Monitor and coordinate corrective actions for equipment and systems
- Maintain accurate records of boiler house activities
- Respond to fire alarms
- Respond to first aid emergencies
