Requirements
- Completion of a nursing education program that is approved by a board of nursing
- Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification – American Heart Association (AHA)- Within 60 days of hire or transfer
- Registered Nurse (RN) – South Dakota Board of Nursing
Responsibilities
- Demonstrate the ability to appropriately assess patients, apply clinical interventions
- Assists with patient education and documents all teaching appropriately
- Establishes nursing care for patients based on nursing process
- Utilizes standards of nursing practice, policies, protocols and professional judgment
- Collaborates with the physician and Healthcare team in the coordination of care needs
- Utilizes critical thinking in providing guidance and care
- Clinical record reflects accurate and timely documentation to ensure continuity and quality of resident care
- Facilitate and schedule necessary testing
- Coordinates testing with physician schedules
- Facilitates efficient, appropriate, coordinated care to ensure a positive patient outcome
- Screen laboratory/diagnostic test results for abnormal results and alert the ordering provider
- Handles unanticipated events and crisis situations in a professional manner
- All other duties as assigned
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Nursing
- 1+ years of Hospital Experience
